Much like the dandelion, or Tanpopo in Japanese, we believe in the resilience and beauty of simplicity. Our philosophy at Tanpopo Child Care revolves around the belief that every child deserves to develop a strong sense of self-esteem. In line with our philosophy, we embrace multi-age environments where children of various ages learn and grow together. This approach fosters a sense of community, cooperation, and respect among children of all ages. Younger children benefit from learning from older peers, while older children develop leadership skills and empathy through mentoring younger ones.

Hello, I’m Yuka, and I’m proud to be the Principal of Tanpopo. As a mother of three, I’ve always been passionate about creating an environment where children feel safe, loved, and encouraged to explore their full potential. I am dedicated to ensure that each child at our daycare receives the care and attention they deserve.
I believe in fostering a warm, supportive space where children can grow, learn, and build the foundations that will carry them through life. My goal is to nurture each child’s creativity, curiosity, and social development, helping them thrive both emotionally and intellectually.
I look forward to working closely with our families and supporting your child on their journey of learning and discovery!
Miho Bay

Hi! I’m Miho,
Originally from Gifu, Japan, I began my journey in childcare right after graduating from college, working at a group childcare center. While I valued the importance of structure and discipline in group settings, I quickly realized how important it is for each child to have space for personal expression. I later moved to Vancouver on a working holiday and worked as a nanny, where I embraced a more child-centered approach to care.
Upon returning to Japan, I worked with infants and toddlers and found my passion for creating a warm, home-like environment that helps children feel secure and nurtured. Eventually, I returned to Vancouver, where I pursued my studies in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Infant Toddler care. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of gaining experience in various settings, including preschool programs, multi-age childcare, and toddler programs.

As a father of three, I understand the importance of providing a nurturing and supportive environment where children can grow, explore, and thrive. My approach is built on the belief that strong foundations are key to helping children stand out and succeed as they develop.
At Tanpopo, we combine effective management with a deep love for children, ensuring that our daycare operates smoothly, efficiently, and with the highest standards of care. Our programs are designed to foster creativity, social skills, and a love of learning, all within a safe and engaging environment.

Hello, my name is Mizuki,
Originally from Gifu, Japan. My background is in nursing, and I have also volunteered at a Japanese language school. I absolutely love spending time with children. While prioritizing safety, I strive to create an environment where children can enjoy group life through positive encouragement and support.
I am committed to working as a team to create a safe, nurturing environment where each child can thrive, express their individuality, and grow with confidence.

In addition to play-based learning, we place a strong emphasis on cultural appreciation. Tanpopo Child care provides a unique experience, where children have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the beauty of various traditions and customs. Through a variety of enriching activities, including art, music, storytelling, and play, children gain a deeper understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures, enhancing their global awareness and empathy.
